#UWPPD | Courage and Compassion in Community: 90 Minute Safe Classroom Workshop with Amy Fabrikant

Now more than ever, so many students feel marginalized in school. We need to create school communities of empathy and compassion, where everyone feels a sense of worth and belonging. Amy has been an educator for over 30 years and will share her latest findings on how to create truly safe classrooms. Looking at new research and scientific data @Energy, Neurodiversity, and Growth Mindsets, Amy will guide you through various exercises that will empower you and your students. You will leave with an action plan and resources to further your new practice.

Amy Fabrikant, MA is a Writer, Literacy Specialist, and a National Speaker for Diversity, Access and Equity in Education. Amy received her BA from Vassar College and MA from Columbia University Teachers College, where she is a Literacy Specialist Instructor and Supervisor. Amy holds certifications in Mindfulness and Conflict Resolution and incorporates Mindfulness practices and Growth Mindsets that lead to positive critical self-awareness in her workshops. Amy is a national speaker and consultant on how we can build connection and respect for all in our school communities. Amy is the author of parenting and school based articles and author of the award-winning book, When Kayla Was Kyle.
