Urban Word’s Poet-In-Residence Featured on PBS NewsHour!

Mahogany L. Browne is NAACP Image Award nominee, poet, and author coordinating the Women of the World Poetry Slam at New York’s Pratt Institute, but she is soo much more than that. As Urban Word’s poet-in-residence, she plays a number of vital roles including her development and management of the organization’s Youth Leadership Board, coach of the NYC Youth Poetry Slam Team, Master Teaching Artist and Mentor, and more. We are so very happy to have her as part of our team. Here she gives her Brief But Spectacular take on “Black Girl Magic” and the struggles facing African-American women in modern society.

Go watch her here.
